Two years ago, we launched the Bettering Human Lives Foundation with the belief that a market-based approach to clean cooking could create lasting change. Today, we are excited to share the proof of this concept.
Across Ghana, Kenya, and Zambia, BHLF has provided 14 loans to 10 entrepreneurial partners totaling more than $1.3 million. With our support of local businesses, school kitchens are converting from firewood to LPG, and families once locked out by upfront costs are cooking cleanly through flexible repayment plans.
Some astounding highlights from our first two years include Henos Energy’s 600% growth in LPG sales volume and KISAC Enterprises’ 820 first-time LPG users.
Our 2024–2025 Foundation Report captures the full story of our entrepreneurs driving change in their own communities, the fundraising milestones that expanded our reach, and the financial model that ensures every repaid loan becomes the seed for the next one.
Expanding access to clean cooking isn’t a distant aspiration; it’s happening now, one stove, one school, and one family at a time.
